Greetings,

Today, you're going to learn a bit about Point of View Marketing.

You can think of it like this:

Ethics is having the willingness to take a stand.

Your niche is where you stand.

Point of View Marketing is the willingness to tell the truth about what you see from where you stand.

In today's video (9 minutes), you'll learn:

  • my definition of POV

  • bad workshop + great pitch = poor results

  • how the pitch is just the cherry on the top

  • great workshop + bad pitch = good results

  • which belief you are most afraid to share

  • the emperor’s new clothes in marketing

  • the biggest issue

  • your POV in one sentence

  • why POV marketing works

Today’s 5 Minute Exercise:

Set a timer for five minutes. Get a pen and paper and write the words, “I believe…” at the top of the page.

You’re going to write non-stop for five minutes, as to the truth of what you believe about the work you do. Let yourself be real, petty, and let yourself rant.

Tip: Think about what you want to be known for and the struggles you’ve personally overcome as you answer these.

When you’re done, circle the top three ideas and then take the one that’s most exciting for you and, if you’re feeling brave, write about it or make a video about it to share on social media or with your email list.

Bonus Questions if you get stuck:

  • What is the bullshit you’re most sick of in your industry?

  • What is most important to people in solving the problems you help them with?

  • What do you see missing in the marketplace for your people?

Note: If this exercise is hard, it’s likely because your niche is too broad.

That’s all for today.

Stay human,

Tad
