Corina Bye
birthblueprint.com
Corina has been a doula and child birth mentor for 6 years. Preparing for birth is so much more than pelvic models and dilation charts. She feels great honour to be intersecting with each of her families at the crossroad of their “hero’s journey” into birthing and parenthood. Birth preparation to her means walking a woman into her space of warrior, and partner into his or her place of sacred guardian.
During this time, Corina had never expected to fall in love with an organ, and experiences great amusement by her strange and wonderful fascination with the placenta. She has been offering folk healing remedies for women through dehydration and tincture preparations for the last two years. She feels immense satisfaction in crafting cord keepsakes for families; and delights when one of her families discovers the beauty that was hidden in their placenta as
All of this being said, change is inevitable, and sometimes one needs to redirect. In facing personal challenge over the last two years, Corina made being a stable presence in the life of her own children first priority. The precarious nature of birth doula work needed to be suspended. Thankfully however, in practicing radical self care during intense times, she underwent a significant personal transformation, reconnecting with her own warrior. Discovering the woman under the mother and nurturer, she found the strength present in her body which brought solace and endurance when needed most. Corina’s new inspiration is to assist other women in striking a personal balance in their own lives as nurturers, warriors, and lovers, through connection to their own physical health and strength.

“I met Russell during a cooking class session for busy moms. His dedication for healthy, local and simple foods and dishes instantly appealed to me. I was part of a group of three, composed of moms of young children (under 4) who were interested in learning how to cook easy, healthy and kid friendly dishes using simple, easily obtainable ingredients. During our four sessions Russell was able to adapt his teaching to our varying levels of cooking knowledge and interests. Personally I was very impressed with Russell’s ability to create a warm and inclusive environment while meeting our individual learning needs.I would recommend Russell as a teacher or activity leader for anyone with an interest in advancing their culinary knowledge.” – Olecia Walker, busy mom of two kids
Russell makes sourcing food from local and organic growers a priority. He volunteers for Forstbauer Organic Farm at the Kitsilano Farmers’ Market each Sunday. They are supportive of his business.
In addition to teaching, Russell also catered several community events: a recent rooftop cocktail party, soup for 400 at Phantom Run trail race 2014, Nico’s (3 years old) birthday party for 30, and the 2013 Kitsilano Community Centre AGM.
Running ultra-Marathons helps Russell balance his busy urban lifestyle. He loves the nature connection. The training also helps him overcome mental obstacles, which he applies to the challenges of being a grass-roots entrepreneur. But the main reason for all this training is to take advantage of the many back-country seasonal berry patches 🙂

Julie facilitates the creation of transformative and connective experiences, programs, businesses, and organizations. She moves easily from idea to action and loves the way structure creates more freedom. Julie gets totally lit up encouraging people to follow their passions and offer their gifts and visions to the world. She’s a natural leader, and plans businesses in her sleep. (Literally. It’s hard sometimes).
Her two biggest values are freedom and connection. Julie love traveling, adventures, and gathering with loved ones. She also spends a lot of time doing yoga and wandering through the East Bay Hills.
Before founding her own coaching business in 2013, Julie co-founded and co-directed Wilderness Torah, a thriving organization dedicated to reconnecting people to nature, community, and their unique gifts. From a single event in 2007, she helped a visionary seed flourish quickly into an organization and community serving hundreds of people each year through a variety of programs. As lead business strategist and operational director, Julie put structure around a lofty vision, developing our business plan from the ground up, as well as managing day-to-day operations, human resources, marketing, outreach, and fundraising strategy, and the other myriad projects that inevitably come up in a new business or organization! She hired, trained, and supervised many highly successful staff and built a community of all-star volunteer leaders and board members. She has planned powerful staff and board retreats and strategy sessions, events for hundreds (from outdoor festivals to fancy fundraisers), and she prides herself on being a leader who delegates well. Julie’s large and talented network of friends and colleagues (and knowing when to call them) is one of her greatest assets.
Previous to that, Julie worked for a decade in environmental and social justice advocacy and public relations in Washington, DC and San Francisco, CA, convincing politicians and corporations to do the right thing by organizing a LOT of people.
