Chip Conley: Measuring what makes life worthwhile

Chip Conley is the author of ‘Marketing that Matters’. Still one of the best books I’ve ever read on marketing.

Here he gives a talk that had the TED crowd buzzing. He shows you how the great businesses today get their mojo from Maslow and create a great quality of life for everyone involved.

About Tad

  • Love this. Love TED Talks. And thanks for sharing about Chip Conley. 1st time I have heard of him.

Looking beyond the tangible with Maslow’s hierarchy = smart.

And, pimping my blog here, but to this day, this article from over a year ago, still gets the most traffic to my website. So clearly people are interested in Self-Actualization.

Thanks Tad. Always enjoy your posts!

  • Tad,

Thanks for the reminder through Chip.

I love this message and have believed in this for a long time. It is amazing even in my field — mental health — how much we focus on tangibles like reduction of symptoms and “innappropriate” behaviours rather than on personal satisfaction and deeper fulfillment.

I believe that the tangibles and intangibles are interconnected and both deserve our attention. I hope we keep inspiring businesses to find this holistic balance too!
